Seminar on Ethics instruction in the educational system
Another of the seminars which are part of the internal education program for the members of the political party KDU-CSL took place on January 8. These seminars are jointly organized with Christian College. The theme this time was ethics training in the educational system. Speakers included those with well-known names: the first to speak was Jan Sokol, who responded to the question, "Why do we need ethics instruction?" Michaela Sojdrova followed him with an evaluation of the current state of ethics education in the Czech Republic. In conclusion, the most knowledgeable person on this topic, Pavel Motycka, spoke of the plans for bringing ethics education into the school system. The discussion that followed revolved mostly around the problems that ethics instruction in the schools could run into. In the audience were numbers of teachers from various schools, from primary to university, as well as officials from institutions which have some connections to the school system. Because of the knowledgeable audience, all the opinions shared were very inspiring and the discussion, moderated by Tomas Evan, was very lively.
